I am beginning this blog at the start of the Fall 2007 rowing season. I plan to take a great deal of video this year and I think this will be the best way for everyone to watch it and discuss it, without taking time away from practice. I will also be making plenty of other posts, non-video related. Feel free to comment on everything, specifically your own video clips.
This site is sweet. It's an awesome place for me to become informed without harassing everyone :D I wish it would have existed while I was on the team
Anyways... comments on the video? Looks good ladies! Some constructive criticism-- You guys are kind of slicing in to the water and therefore only getting your blades in for the last 3/4 of the drive. This means that you could be in theory 125% faster! I used to do this too, so I probably taught it to you (sorry!) but if you all make a concerted effort to lift your hands-- let your oars bounce off the water at first right as you pass over those nasty wing riggers, you will save your hands some bashing and also give the stroke more length. Natalie-- I'm glad to see your "tourque" is gone ;) Too bad I won't get to see you guys rowing in person at HOCR because I'll be too busy rowing too!
